Training in Free Diving and Apnea (breath holding) has been organized and structured by  FREE DIVING INSTITUTE (FDI) in such a way, so that starting up is fairly simple and easy, while more specialized courses can be delivered in order to fulfill the needs of experienced freedivers who seek to obtain additional theoretical or technical know how.

The multi-level structure of the FDI training methodology guarantees full attention to the goals of each course. The know how that is provided by each course is distinct, and independent, and at the same time interlinked with the rest of the course content, resulting in safe, mature, and experienced free divers

The structure and homogeneity of the theoretical and practical exercises ensure common experiences to all the trainees. As a result each FDI certified free diver can continue their training to attain a higher level of certification, without any gaps or differentiations in the course.

The primary focus of the FDI training methodology is Safety, and is based on the “Don’t dive alone” principle.
