It is common and natural for self-taught freedivers or spearfishers (i.e. free divers that have never attended a free diving course, nor have they ever been certified by a free diving institute) to posses the know how and skills of a certain course level.
Our school respects the know how and skills of all self-taught freedivers and spearfishers.
Therefore the participation of self-taught freedivers or spearfishers in a course is allowed, as long as they already posses the skills of the previous (lower) course level.
If you belong in this category, you do not have to start from AIDA 1 level.
Our Instructor will initially assess your skills and will suggest to you the next level up.
The 1st level is an introductory course to free diving and is aimed to divers with little on no free diving experience.
It is a course, designed to offer friendly, simple and quick learning to enable the new free diver to move in the underwater environment with safety.
This level freediving course is aiming to freedivers that already possess Level 1 certification, or a certification of another organization of similar stature, or self-taught freedivers and spear fishers who posses the skills and qualifications of the 1st level course.
This level course you will go one step beyond. You learn how to train as a freediver and bring your freediving to the next level, beyond the basics. Systematically and safely you will expand your capabilities as a freediver. During this course, you will be trained to achieve higher results, and execute the practical exercises with a perfect technique, according to the AIDA / FDI standards.
The competition freediving courses offer the opportunity to talented and gifted individuals to achieve truly impressive performance in static, dynamic apnea, constant and variable weights, with the support and coordination of our school Instructor.
These specialized sessions have been designed to offer to the participants the basic knowledge that a modern spearhunter should possess in order to practice this activity in a safe and technically correct manner, with the appropriate respect and sensitivity to the marine life and environment.
